We’re on a mission to make Cliffemount the UK's first-ever Passivhaus accredited hotel.
Our Story
Having spent many years enjoying Runswick Bay and the beautiful coastline, the Fojt family saw unspoken potential in Cliffemount.
As a family, we are passionate about our guests, community, and planet and therefore want to be a hotel with a difference. Cliffemount will aim to be developed into the first Passivhaus hotel within the UK, which intends to reduce a building’s ecological footprint, resulting in an ultra-low energy output.
We're working hard to obtain Passivhaus accreditation because as a family, we truly care about our impact. Plus, we want our guests to not only enjoy their stay with us because of the experience but feel peace knowing their impact on the environment is minimal.
We want to demonstrate that sustainability does not mean compromising on quality and design. We hope that the success of our hotel will inspire others in hospitality to adopt a more sustainable approach, thus reducing the industry’s overall impact on the environment.
