The demolition of a renowned hotel in Runswick Bay, Cliffemount Hotel, has today, 19th August, commenced.
Contractors have arrived on site this morning to set up and prepare for an eight-week-long demolition process.

Cliffemount Hotel has been granted planning permission today by
North Yorkshire Council’s Planning Authority. The vision is to build a
hotel and make it the UK's first-ever Passivhaus hotel, with
sustainability at the forefront of its design.
